For some, a project car is more than just a collection of popular parts and highly regarded brand names.
Something beyond the urge to impress one’s peers
…Or even give thought as to what they think.
It’s the creation of something deeply personal; an unashamed addiction to pouring one’s character into otherwise sterile nuts and bolts.
This is the compulsion of tool man Beau Jones, whose world famous Trueno made way for this S13 build just a couple of short months ago.
As you can see he’s been hard on the spanners since, thrashing away to make things like a tubbed front end, S15 SR20 and custom wheel arch flares happen. With 15x10s and a roll cage in the works it’s shaping up to be a serious bit of gear.
But for Beau this project is simply about enjoying the car life more. While the Trueno was purpose built and buck wild, the low-slung S13 will be the type of car that’s just as at home cruising to the beach on a lazy Sunday arvo as it is grabbing thirds on Eastern Creek on a furious Friday night.
After all that’s what we’re here for, right?
