No Sleep Til Wakefield

Some guy organised some lame burnout competition for some huge number of bogans on the back straight of Wakefield Park raceway. We showed little interest in this. Luckily, however, they decided to dedicate the greater part of the track to a small drift day, a safe distance from the VB swilling rednecks, besides one named Mez.

The majority of Hit and Run were able to make it, so headed down on the Saturday, staying the night in the classiest of establishments, the Pelican Sheep Station, situated a mere late-night-adventure from the track.

We were stoked to have Waldo aka Speedhunters aka Todd Waldon aka Speedhunters aka Ziptied Aus Ambassador, owner of the meanest S13 ever (sorry, you’re not allowed to disagree), and chronic filmographer/sesame street character, Mez along with us. Much adventure + and a great day on the track + loads of automobile carnage = epic weekend.

List of the carnage that comes to mind:

  • Scotty’s R31 drivehaft/diff coupling
  • Beau’s Fibreglass/polycarb Hachi rear hatch
  • Ben’s Radiator
  • Ty’s engine
  • many tyres
  • ‘Rone’s alarm which caught fire
  • Tyler’s rear windscreen
  • much fibreglass
  • The log that the station master at the Pelican said we couldn’t burn through…fool..

I now have the front guards that used to be on that Trueno. Looks so good, such a shame it’s only the guards I’ve ever seen in person.
